Father's Day Cards

Hi All,

I have been working on some greeting cards for Father Day which is taking place on Sunday 16th June 2013 and I thought I would share a few of the cards I made with you.  I treated myself to some new sizzix & Lili of the Valley items and I thought these cards were the perfect excuse to use them!

Ive started using ink essentials and Tim Holtz ink pads to get the aged look which I think has turned out a great effect for these more 'masculine cards'.

These both cards were made using the following products; Country Gent 8x8 Paper Pad from Lili of the Valley NitWit Collection and also Character stamps from Lili of the Valley Vintage Boys set, lace card detail was created by using Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Die set and general coloured cardstock, buttons and twine from my crafting stash.

Personalised Photo Frames

Hi All,

Today I thought I would share with you another gift idea which I enjoy making for my friends and family... personalised photo frames!

Again, I think they are another lovely thoughtful decoration for the home and I thought I would share a photo of a frame I made for my best friends wedding last June.

The frame and words are by 'Beyond the page' and arrive in there plain brown mdf form.  Once they arrived in my eager crafty hands I painted the frame black (which I think allows the white and purple colour to pop)  and the words in white.  I then selected different elements from a collection of Wedding themed Kaisercraft papers which I then placed within the frame with my favourite photos.

To add an extra touch I adjusted the colour my photoshop elements software to allow me to keep the photos black and white and only show the purple colour in the flowers.  I also personalised one of the papers (in the bottom right corner) with their names and date of their wedding by using Dry rub off paper by Craftycomputerpaper.co.uk

All the final little details such as the flowers and pearls I purchased from my local hobby craft store.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and enjoy making some lovely personalised gifts of your own, as much as I do!

Thanking for checking in!  See you soon!

Bird Cage Gift Baskets

Hi All,

I have always been really into making gift baskets for family and friends and enjoy taking the time to think of different ways in which to present them and varying themes etc.

I have recently created some gift baskets in the form of bird cages, as it is a lovely way to present the gift but the cage can also be used again for decoration around the home, some of my friends have used their's with candles inside for added decoration.

To make the baskets I purchased the bird cages from a local home store along with some decorative plastic flowers which I cut into individual strands and weaved through the cage, securing with some beading wire.  The contents includes a variety of smellies, purchased according to the reciepents taste.

Thanks for taking the time to view my blog! See you soon!

Christening Card

Hi All,

I have recently recieved a request for a personalised card, as this is my first card for a christening, I thought I would share it with you all...!

I enjoy colouring with my promarkers so I always try to include a stamped image on my cards.  I really struggled at first to think of what type of image to use but when I found this digi stamp, 'Cuddle Cloud Baby' at Meljen's designs, I thought I had to use it as it is sooo cute!

I paired up the image with some papers from my 'New Leaf' 8x8 from Papiers creation and little bits and bobs I have had lying in my embellishment drawerwhich were just waiting to be used, including lace ribbon and pearl gems from Craft time.

For the lettering I used my new Sizzix Zingo alphabet die using my Big Shot from Sizzix, which I love! I usually do everything by hand but with my new cutting machine I am getting addicted to cutting out personalised lettering in matching papers!

Thanks for stopping by. See you soon!

Welcome!

Well, here I am! I'm so excited to make my very first post to my Lisa Anne Designs blog! I've always been truly inspired by the creative arts and always enjoyed getting lost in my own little crafty world and I have finally decided to give the world of craft blogging a go!

Over the years I have always enjoyed creating handmade and personalised items for all my friends and family and in most recent years I have branched out into making cards.

Twelve months ago, a friend of mine saw many of my handmade cards stored in my craft room and suggested that I try to sell them, even if it was just for a bit of extra pocket money to pay for more crafting goodies! I would always enjoy making cards but would never do anything with them as I have never been confident enough in my crafting ability to think anyone would like them, let alone purchase one!

I have since brought them in to my place of work and have had a lot of great feedback! As well as being able to make a little money to fund my crafting addiction, I have also been able to raise money for the British Heart Foundation, which is a charity close to my heart, by donating a small contribution to the charity from every one of my cards purchased.

I enjoy referring to many crafting blogs to help get my creative juices flowing, especially for those times when you can have 'creative block' and following another nudge by a friend I have decided to try and create my own blog and join the great online crafting community and hopefully share my love of crafting and the arts with you all. Here we go...... :)
